Dev Q&A: What Playground Games Confirmed

In a Discord Q&A reported by IGN, Playground Games revealed key details about Touge battles, the Festival Playlist overhaul, and several gameplay changes coming in FH6.

---

Touge Battles: How They Work

Touge battles are **one-on-one racing challenges** across five preset mountain passes on the Japan-inspired map.

**Single-player:** A specific opponent waits parked near each mountain route's starting point. Drive up and challenge them.

**Online Championship Mode:** Continuous one-on-one battles across all five courses.

**Key detail:** Touge battles are **not tied to festival progression**. You can jump into them at any time, regardless of your Wristband level.

Festival Playlist: Earlier Access, Different from FH5

The Festival Playlist returns but with major changes:

  • Available much earlier — unlocks after joining the Horizon Festival, roughly **one hour** into the game
  • In FH5, the Playlist was endgame content. FH6 introduces it as early-game engagement
  • Expect a different structure and reward cadence from FH5's version
  • ---

Aftermarket Car System: Randomized Per Player

Aftermarket car locations are scattered across the map, but with a twist: **car choices are randomized and differ for each player**. No two players will find the same aftermarket car in the same spot.

Developers emphasized that **unique Forza Edition cars will remain very rare** — don't expect to find them at every aftermarket location.

    ---

    Other Confirmed Changes

  • Forzathon Live renamed to "Stunt Party" — new name, presumably new activities
  • Eliminator starter car: Level 1 players now get the **1984 Honda City**
  • Legend Island: Locked until Gold Wristband (Horizon Legend). Features its own Festival Outpost, exclusive events, and serves as the starting point for the game's **"Goliath" race** — the longest in series history
  • ---

    Launch Details

  • Release Date: May 19, 2026
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC (Microsoft Store/Steam), Xbox Cloud Gaming
  • PS5: Hinted for later release
