FH6 Progression Guide: From Tourist to Horizon Legend

By FH6 Guide Team|8 min read

A Grounded Start: Tourist, Not Superstar

Forza Horizon 6 breaks from tradition. Unlike previous games where you arrived as an established superstar, FH6 starts you as an **unknown tourist in Japan** with a dream of joining the Horizon Festival. You earn your reputation from scratch.

Two rookie characters guide your journey:

  • Jordy — Focused on competitive motorsport and Festival racing
  • Mei — Introduces Japanese tuning culture and regional identity
  • ---

Dual Progression: Two Paths, One Journey

FH6 introduces two parallel progression systems that cater to completely different playstyles:

    Path 1: Horizon Festival (Wristbands)

The competitive racing path. Earn **seven Wristbands** through curated racing events with specific car restrictions. Each tier demands particular car sets for Road, Dirt, and Cross Country events.

    The 7-Band Ladder:

    | Wristband | Gamerscore | What Unlocks |

    |---|---|---|

    | Yellow | 10G | Entry to Horizon Festival |

    | Green | 10G | Basic Festival events |

    | Blue | 10G | Expanded race roster |

    | Pink | 20G | Showcases begin |

    | Orange | 20G | Higher-tier championships |

    | Purple | 30G | **Hypercar restriction removed** from Festival races |

    | Gold | 50G | Horizon Legend status, Legend Island, The Colossus |

Between Wristbands, you'll tackle Showcases (including **Chaser Zero** — a mech race) and brand-new **Horizon Rush** obstacle courses at Tokyo City Docks, Sotoyama Ski Resort, and Irokawa Space Center.

**Class progression:** D–C class through Wristbands 1–2 → B–A in middle tiers → S1/S2 when Festival events call for it.

    Path 2: Discover Japan (Stamps)

Inspired by Japan's real-world stamp-collecting culture. A laid-back progression track with **no vehicle restrictions** — drive what you want, when you want.

    How to earn Stamps:

  • Photograph landmarks
  • Complete food deliveries
  • Collect cars
  • Finish Horizon Story chapters
  • Race in any mode
  • **Stamp Tiers:** Yellow → Green → Blue → Pink → Orange → Purple → Gold

**Rewards:** Player Houses with customisable garages, Barn Find Rumors, and **The Estate** — a mountain valley where you can build and decorate directly in the open world.

    ---

    The Smart Compromise

Crucially, Discover Japan offers less restrictive racing. While Festival events lock hypercars behind the Purple Wristband (late in the campaign), Discover Japan's **Touge Battles and night-time Street Races let you jump straight into fast cars** if you prefer. It's a smart design for both players who want to earn their progress and those who want the best cars from the start.

    ---

    Race Customizer

Once you complete a Festival race, the **Race Customizer** unlocks for that event. Adjust:

  • Drivatar count (up to 11)
  • Season, weather, time of day
  • Number of laps
  • Rewind availability
  • Traffic density
  • Car themes (pre-made classes or individually selected vehicles)
  • ---

    Collection Journal

All progress across both paths is tracked in the **Collection Journal**. It saves every photograph you take as a keepsake. Complete specific activities and challenges to redeem rewards including cars, credits, and cosmetics.

    ---
