This page should push users into the map tool and adjacent collectible routes so the cluster compounds rather than ending here.

Quick Answer

There are 9 Treasure Cars hidden across FH6 Japan. Unlike Barn Finds, Treasure Cars require no restoration wait — find them, spend 1 Skill Point to claim, and the car is instantly added to your garage. Each also awards 10,000 XP, for a total of 90,000 XP across all 9.

Best collection route: Tokyo City (Figaro) → Ito (Safari Turbo) → Minamino (Charger) → Ohtani (RX-7) → Nangan (Ford GT) → Shimanoyama (959) → Takashiro (Evo III) → Sotoyama (Stratos) → Hokubu (M1).

All 9 Treasure Car Locations

1. 1991 Nissan Figaro — Tokyo City

Class/PI: D 234 | Best Use: Stylish city cruiser with retro Pike Factory charm. Not competitive but one of the most characterful free cars.

Location: Southwestern Tokyo City, near the waterfront. Hidden in a narrow alley between two buildings. The Figaro's pastel-colored body and retro styling make it easy to spot from the street once you are in the right neighborhood.

Postcard Clue: References Tokyo's fashion districts and the car's Pike Factory special edition status.

2. 1985 Nissan Safari Turbo — Ito Region

Class/PI: D 123 | Best Use: Quirky D-class offroader with high ground clearance and turbo power. Fun for early dirt exploration.

Location: Eastern Ito, near the beach area. Parked partially hidden behind a fishing shack. Approach from the coastal road and look for tire tracks leading off the main route toward the water.

Postcard Clue: Mentions beach fishing spots and the Safari's overlanding heritage.

3. 1969 Dodge Charger R/T — Minamino Region

Class/PI: C 417 | Best Use: American muscle for C-class street racing and drag events. Massive burnout potential.

Location: Western Minamino, near the Naruo golf course area. The Charger is tucked behind an old gas station on the outskirts of the golf course. The unmistakable long hood profile is visible from the main road approaching the station.

Postcard Clue: References classic American car culture finding its way into rural Japan.

4. 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE — Ohtani Region

Class/PI: D 357 | Best Use: Rotary engine project car. Excellent base for building into a B or A class drift/circuit machine.

Location: Southern Ohtani, near the Tokyo City border. Parked under a tree canopy beside an old warehouse. The dusty paint makes it blend in with the building — check every warehouse lot in the southern industrial area.

Postcard Clue: Mentions rotary engines and Ohtani's industrial warehouse district.

5. 2005 Ford GT — Nangan Region

Class/PI: A 676 | Best Use: One of the strongest free A-class cars. Genuine American supercar performance with excellent top speed for highway events.

Location: Northeastern Nangan, near the large lake. The Ford GT is hidden in a barn-like structure close to the water. A purple Treasure Car icon on the approach distinguishes it from Barn Finds in the same area.

Postcard Clue: References the Ford GT's Le Mans heritage and lakeside storage.

6. 1987 Porsche 959 — Shimanoyama Region

Class/PI: A 661 | Best Use: The best Treasure Car for competitive racing. AWD with Paris-Dakar rally DNA. Fast on road and capable on dirt out of the box.

Location: Northwestern Shimanoyama. The access route sits inside a Speed Zone boundary — a dirt turnoff that is easy to miss at speed. When driving the Speed Zone heading north, look for a dirt path branching left into the trees.

Postcard Clue: References the 959's Paris-Dakar rally victories and Shimanoyama's mountain roads.

7. 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR — Takashiro Region

Class/PI: B 517 | Best Use: B-class rally and offroad specialist. AWD + turbo + WRC pedigree. One of the most versatile free cars in the game.

Location: West side of Takashiro. Near a large gravel parking lot at a road bend — the same lot complex where the Pennzoil Skyline Barn Find is located. The Evo III is parked behind a different building in the same lot. Drive around all the buildings in the complex.

Postcard Clue: References Mitsubishi's WRC dominance and Takashiro's gravel rally roads.

8. 1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale — Sotoyama Region

Class/PI: C 483 | Best Use: C-class rally icon. Mid-engine, short wheelbase — challenging to master but incredibly rewarding when driven well on technical stages.

Location: Central Sotoyama, on a forested hillside. The Stratos is partially hidden by trees on a dirt pull-off area. Its wedge-shaped profile is distinctive but blends into the tree shadows. Approach from the main road that cuts through central Sotoyama and watch for a dirt turnout.

Postcard Clue: References the Stratos's 1970s rally dominance and Sotoyama's winding forest roads.

9. 1981 BMW M1 — Hokubu Region

Class/PI: S2 805 | Best Use: The highest-PI free car in FH6. Giugiaro-designed S2 classic that holds its own against modern supercars on circuits.

Location: Central Hokubu, southwest of the Shikisai-No-Oka flower field near the Flower Run Speed Trap. Approach from the north — a dashed-line dirt path extends south from the road that wraps around the flower field area. The M1 is parked at a scenic overlook.

Postcard Clue: References the M1's Giugiaro design heritage and Hokubu's famous flower viewing spots.

Best Collection Route (Region by Region)

The most efficient order groups Treasure Cars geographically for minimal travel time:

Loop 1: Southeast Sweep

  1. Tokyo City — Nissan Figaro (start here, quick city pickup)
  2. Ito — Nissan Safari Turbo (east along the coast)
  3. Minamino — Dodge Charger R/T (west from Ito)

Loop 2: Central Route

  1. Ohtani — Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE (south side, near Tokyo)
  2. Nangan — Ford GT (southwest to the lake area)
  3. Shimanoyama — Porsche 959 (northwest, inside Speed Zone)

Loop 3: Northern Finish

  1. Takashiro — Mitsubishi Evo III GSR (west side gravel lot)
  2. Sotoyama — Lancia Stratos (central forest hillside)
  3. Hokubu — BMW M1 (near flower field, save the best for last)

The 90,000 XP Bonus Strategy

Each Treasure Car costs 1 Skill Point to claim and awards 10,000 XP. Collect all 9 and you earn 90,000 XP total — enough for several early-game level-ups and their associated Wheelspins.

Optimal preparation:

  1. Bank at least 9 Skill Points before starting the Treasure Car route
  2. A 10-minute drift session at Daikoku Parking Area or a highway drafting run nets 15-20 Skill Points
  3. Collect cars in region order (above) to minimize travel time between claims
  4. The Wheelspins from level-up rewards effectively make Treasure Cars "pay for themselves" in credits

Treasure Cars vs Barn Finds: Which First?

Hunt Treasure Cars first. They require:

  • No Discover Japan stamp progression
  • No restoration waiting period
  • Only 1 Skill Point per car

By the time you finish the Treasure Car route, you will have 9 free cars (including one S2 and two A-class), 90,000 XP, and several Wheelspins — a much stronger baseline for tackling the Discover Japan stamp grind needed for Barn Finds.

Then switch to Barn Finds as your Discover Japan stamps unlock their purple search circles.

Tips for Finding Treasure Cars Faster

  • All 9 are available from the start — no progression gating, unlike Barn Finds
  • Look for the Treasure Car icon on the map as you explore new areas — it marks the general location
  • Have 1 Skill Point ready before approaching — driving away to earn one and coming back is tedious
  • Use Drone Mode if you cannot spot the car from the road — the abandoned vehicle is visible from above
  • Bundle with Barn Finds — if a Barn Find purple circle is active in the same region, grab both in one trip
  • Check behind buildings and structures — many Treasure Cars are deliberately obscured from the main road

Treasure Car FAQ

Q: Do Treasure Cars require Discover Japan stamps like Barn Finds?

A: No. All 9 Treasure Cars are available from the moment you enter free roam. Zero stamp gating.

Q: Do I need to wait for restoration?

A: No. Treasure Cars go directly into your garage the moment you spend the Skill Point. Clean them at any Festival site or house if you want the dirt removed.

Q: What if I do not have a Skill Point when I find one?

A: The car stays in place. Earn a Skill Point (30 seconds of drifting or drafting usually does it) and return to claim it.

Q: Which Treasure Car is the best for actual racing?

A: The Porsche 959 (A 661) is the most competitive. AWD, excellent handling, usable in A-class road and offroad. The BMW M1 (S2 805) is the highest-PI free car in the entire game.

Q: Can I sell Treasure Cars at the Auction House?

A: Yes, but most have low market value. The Porsche 959 and BMW M1 occasionally attract buyers. Generally better to keep them for your collection and the XP bonus.

Q: What is the fastest way to earn the 9 Skill Points needed?

A: A 10-minute drift session at Daikoku Parking Area drift zone. Drift zones multiply skill chains faster than any other activity. Highway drafting runs are a good backup.
